The Senior Manager, Financial Systems will lead the financial systems support teams, guide implementation, and develop support and evolution strategy for the Oracle ERP, Hyperion Financial Management, Hyperion Planning, Blackline and other various financial systems. This position will have an in-depth knowledge of subject matter surrounding current and evolving application solutions, industry standards, best practices, root cause analysis, opportunities, and training. He/she will also work with cross-functional project teams consisting of technical and business unit team members and should have professional level service skills including an ability to communicate, negotiate, and implement processes for the applications which they will manage. This is a leadership role with responsibility for managing the financial application support teams, and implementation of financial systems strategy. This role will also manage offshore/onshore resources during development and testing and be responsible for the relationship with the 3rd party vendor.
This position will report directly to the Director of Accounting and Finance Systems
Work directly with internal and external Audit on SOX compliance and testing strategies.
Manage the application support teams for financial systems users throughout the organization and its partners, with concentration on Back Office / GL development/ Accounting & Finance functions.
Work with financial systems users and management to determine appropriate system configuration and setup and adherence to system and SOX controls.
Manage functional systems analysts and work with knowledgeable subject matter experts throughout the company to help define user needs and develop data processing and back office functions.
Thoroughly understand business practices and procedures in order to design, develop and maintain automated workflow processes.
Thoroughly understand financial systems security in order to evaluate system access schemas.
Thoroughly understand financial systems data models and automation mechanics.
Understands and implements financial accounting requirements for multinational / other countries.
Lead systems support teams through data conversion, data validation, development of test/UAT scripts.
Work closely with the IT and Finance teams to oversee system administrative tasks as considered necessary for each of the implemented systems.
Drive analysis and troubleshooting of financial systems issues reported by end users.
Provide for proactive management and oversight for applications and their support. This includes monitoring of service and performance metrics, incident and root cause analysis. Service and incident communication facilitation, troubleshooting problem areas in collaboration with the service provider, status and value proposition reporting.
Ensure communications and processes with business unit customers are consistent across the entire team and are aligned with Accounting and Program direction.
Lead testing new releases of financial systems prior to use in a production environment.
Oversee creation of documentation and procedures guidelines for financial systems users.
Guide architecture evolution and standards definition.
Manage 3rd party relationships; providing direction and setting expectations on deliverables and measure appropriate output.
Special projects and other duties as assigned
Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Business Administration or related discipline preferred
Ability to actively engage stakeholders and customers to ensure processes and projects are developed and executed consistently
Strong ability to work well in teams and develop strong rapport with senior and executive management
Ability to thrive under tight deadlines and high-pressure situations
Attention to detail and excellent problem solving and analytical skills
