An industry leader in the Bonita Springs, FL Herc Rentals is seeking a Travel and Event Planning Coordinator. The position is responsible for assisting in the strategic management of Travel & Event Planning strategies, sourcing activities and ensuring the travel and event planning programs are communicated and monitored to meet company objectives. Categories include, but are not limited to Agency, Air, Hotel, Meeting Logistics and Training.
This position requires significant ‘customer first’ mindset, strong organizational ability, keen attention to detail and the ability to effectively manage multiple priorities. In addition, the role requires high-levels of adaptability and maturity.
Experience in travel industry, demonstrating the ability to show technical knowledge in all travel related categories
Strategic Meeting Management overseeing meeting planning, hotel sourcing and logistics
Executive Team travel- coordinate and manage all executive travel
Supplier Management and continuous evaluation / assessment of supplier performance, ensuring consistency of service, quality, and compliance to contracts and established service level agreements.
Monitor and manage category spend through reporting
Provide guidance and support internal/external business partners
Assist in benchmarking of internal and external costs against industry and competitive standards
Ability to think strategically; excellent project management, facilitation and interpersonal and negotiation skills are required. Ability to build strategic supplier relationships, lead project teams and work effectively in a complex business environment. Anticipates and identifies travelers’ needs and recommends solutions to complex situations.
Proficiency with Excel, Word and PowerPoint
1-3 years of experience in Corporate Travel Program and Meeting Planning
Experience with Travel/Expense programs like Concur or similar platforms
Experience in the hospitality industry is preferred
Ability to understand cultural issues within travel industry and influence key stakeholders and business leaders
Ability to thrive under tight deadlines and high-pressure situations
Attention to detail and excellent problem solving and analytical skills
Results orientated, excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent verbal/written communication
Multi-task – high volume work environment
